The smoothest AI films often hide a very unsmooth process. Behind a few seconds of polished motion are decisions about story, framing, continuity, rhythm, sound and brand fit. Generative tools can accelerate parts of production, but they do not remove the need for filmmaking discipline.
That is good news for brands. It means AI video can be directed instead of left to chance.
A film starts before generation
The first useful deliverable is a treatment. It defines the idea, audience, duration, narrative shape, mood and visual rules. A strong treatment also says what must remain consistent: a product, character, location, palette, camera language or material world.
For a Saudi launch campaign, the treatment might need to work in Arabic and English, leave room for different supers, and produce both vertical and horizontal edits. These requirements affect the concept from the start. They should not be added after the hero film is finished.
Design shots, not random clips
Each shot needs a purpose. Establish the world. Reveal the product. Create tension. Explain a feature. Land the message. A shot list turns the film into manageable parts and helps the team decide where AI generation adds value.
Reference frames establish composition and art direction. Prompts then describe movement, lens behaviour, light, texture and what must not change. Several generations may be needed to find a usable performance. The goal is not maximum novelty in every shot; it is a sequence that belongs to one film.
Consistency is a production task
Objects can change shape. Wardrobe can drift. Lighting can jump. A space can lose its geometry between angles. These are not minor details when a brand is asking the audience to believe the world on screen.
Consistency is managed through repeated visual anchors, controlled framing, reference images, selective editing and, when needed, traditional compositing or 3D work. Sometimes the smartest choice is hybrid production: use AI for impossible transitions or atmospheric scenes, then combine it with filmed products, motion graphics or designed typography.
The edit creates the experience
Generated clips are ingredients. Editing gives them pace and meaning. A good edit removes weak frames, matches movement between shots and builds toward a clear moment. Sound design adds scale, texture and emotional direction. Color finishing makes separate sources feel intentional. Typography delivers the message in a controlled brand system.
This stage is especially important for short-form content. A striking first frame may earn attention, but the sequence still needs to reward it. Every second should move the idea forward.
Know when to use AI video
AI is well suited to visualising imaginative worlds, prototyping a direction, creating stylised transitions and producing concepts that would be difficult to film practically. It may be less suitable when exact product accuracy, repeatable human performance or documentary authenticity is essential.
The right question is not “Can AI make this?” It is “Which production approach will communicate the idea with the right level of control?”
Vibes Agency combines concept, art direction, AI generation, motion design and post-production into one process. The result is not a prompt demo. It is a film designed for the brand, the audience and the screen where it will live.
