A language switcher does not make a website bilingual. The full experience—navigation, content, forms, search, error messages and updates—needs to work in both languages.

Plan the architecture first

Map the pages and user journeys before design. Decide whether both languages contain equivalent content and how URLs, metadata and navigation will be organised. Assign owners for translation, review and future updates.

Write source content clearly. Complicated copy becomes more complicated when localized.

Design both directions

Right-to-left support changes layout behaviour, icons, carousels, breadcrumbs and form flow. Build responsive components that can mirror or rebalance without breaking. Select Arabic and Latin typefaces with compatible character and test real content lengths.

Do not postpone Arabic until development is nearly complete. Early prototypes reveal structural issues while they are still inexpensive to solve.

Localize the journey

Calls to action, contact methods, search terms and trust information may need market-specific treatment. SEO research should happen in each language; search behaviour is not a word-for-word translation exercise.

Forms need clear validation and appropriate input support. Confirmation messages and automated emails belong in the language experience too.

Test parity

Create a quality checklist for both versions: links, page titles, direction, line breaks, forms, analytics, performance and mobile layout. After launch, update both languages through a defined workflow so one does not become stale.

A bilingual website should feel like one brand speaking clearly to two audiences. Vibes Agency brings content, design and development together from the start, so Arabic and English receive equal care.
